SUMMARY:Tonometer Diaton Featured at Vision Expo 2018 in Las Vegas
DESCRIPTION:Find Tonometer Diaton In Action in Las Vegas\, at the International Vision Expo. \nStop by Exhibit MS 4037 (Diaton / Optimetrics) \nFind out more today at: https://tonometerdiaton.com/2018/09/vew2018-find-try-unique-scleral-tonometry-with-diaton-tonometer-booth-ms4037/ \n  \n \n  \nFind and Try Diaton #tonometer in action at exhibit #MS4037 Diaton / Optimetrics \nResearchers Discovered that Eye Pressure (IOP) Rises in Patients Wearing Scleral Lenses \n\nResearchers in a number of clinical studies found out that Intraocular Pressure (IOP) rises substantially (5-7mmHg) in patients wearing scleral lenses. These finding raised a concern that patients wearing sclerals might be at risk for blindness due to glaucoma or other eye conditions that may result from a long term lens wear.\n\n\n\nThese studies were possible due to the innovative tonometry technology by Diaton tonometer where the device allows to measure IOP through the upper eyelid and more importantly via sclera\, right above the edge of the scleral or the contact lens.\n\n  \n                                              \n  \nVisit Diaton Team at Vision Expo and Explore the unique capabilities of scleral transpalpebral tonometry!\nPre-view today at www.diaton.com \nBiCOM Inc. & TEAM Diaton covers the full scope of customer service\, which involves client training\, follow ups\, hotline support\, sales support\, etc. To get more information on the device or to make a purchase\, visit the official website – http://www.TonometerDiaton.com\, or call BiCOM at the toll free number 1-877-diatons (877.342.8667).

SUMMARY:Unique Diaton Tonometer at Optometry's Meeting in Denver Colorado
DESCRIPTION:Innovative Diaton Scleral Tonometer at Optometry’s Meeting in Denver Colorado. \nBesides standard qualities of corneal tonometers\, Diaton is able to measure intraocular pressure (IOP) via sclera\, which us useful to be used on patients that are indicated to wear scleral lenses. Measuring IOP in patients with scleral lenses is becoming a standard of care. Diaton is unique and is only tonometry device on the market that is trans-scleral as well as trans-palpebral. \n \nA recent clinical study by Pacific University College of Optometry\, titled “Does IOP Increase During Scleral Lens Wear? ”  Concerns have been raised about potential unintended long term side effects of scleral lens wear. One of these side effects is a potential change in intraocular pressure (IOP). \nStudy Results: The Diaton measures IOP through the upper eyelid to the scleral surface. This allows clinicians to monitor IOP while scleral lenses are being worn. The correlation between IOP measurements taken with the Diaton and Goldmann were significant. 73.2% of observed Goldmann values fell within ±2 mmHg of the predicted Goldmann values predicted by our linear regression model. Immediately following lens application\, IOP increased (above baseline) in all subjects in both lens designs A and B. The increase in IOP was not significantly different between the two lens designs. The average increase in IOP for both lens designs was 5.5 mmHg. \nDiscussion: We observed that immediately following scleral lens application\, the IOP increased in all of the test subjects. The initial IOP increase averaged 5.5 mmHg. The pressure appears to remain elevated throughout the wearing time (average 7.0 mmHg increase from baseline prior to removal)\, then immediately returns to baseline following scleral lens removal. This suggests that the suction force beneath the lens is a primary contributor to the IOP changes. These suction forces may also be responsible for such phenomenon as conjunctival prolapse. However\, narrowing of the iridocorneal angle or compression of the trabecular meshwork and/or Schlemm’s canal due to the suction of the lens can not be ruled out as possible contributing factors to the IOP changes. Please see the poster for details and graphs. \nDiaton is featured at Optometry’s Meeting 2018 American Optometric Association AOA \nMore about Diaton can be found at www.Diaton.com \nAbout the American Optometric Association (AOA) \nThe American Optometric Association is the leading authority on quality care and an advocate for our nation’s health\, representing more than 44\,000 doctors of optometry (O.D.)\, optometric professionals and optometry students. Doctors of optometry take a leading role in patient care with respect to eye and vision care\, as well as general health and well-being. As primary health care providers\, doctors of optometry have extensive\, ongoing training to examine\, diagnose\, treat and manage ocular disorders\, diseases and injuries and systemic diseases that manifest in the eye. Doctors of optometry provide more than two-thirds of primary eye care in the U.S. \nAbout Diaton tonometer – Unique through the Eyelid tonometer which allows to diagnose intraocular pressure for glaucoma by only touching the upper eyelid overlaying sclera. DESCRIPTION:Unique Transpalpebral and Transscleral Diaton Tonometer Featured at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute XXXIX Inter-American Course in Clinical Ophthalmology. \n  \n  \n \nMany ophthalmologists were impressed by the unique capabilities of Diaton – which allows to obtain accurate IOP results in difficult to measure patients. \n \nNon-corneal Diaton tonometer is particularly useful in cases where standard direct applanation (corneal) tonometry is difficult or not viable\, such as with pediatric patients\, in presence of certain corneal pathology\, edema\, infection\, following corneal surgery\, KPro and in cases of eye trauma. \nDiaton tonometer allows to measure IOP through the upper eyelid and sclera. Unlike all other cornea dependent tonometry devices\, IOP with Diaton is not influenced by known and still unknown biometric properties of the cornea. Pachymetry is not required to adjust the readings for the central corneal thickness (CCT)\, as with Diaton device\, the operating principle and the technique completely eliminates the influence of the cornea. IOP is measured above the edge of the limbus\, with Diaton tonometers tip placed on the upper eyelid at tarsus and sclera. \n \nGoldmann applanation tonometry (GAT) is the gold standard for measuring IOP and most probably will continue to be so into the near future. However\, its limitations were obvious from the start and include the substantial effects of several eye variables such as axial length\, curvature\, rigidity and corneal thickness. Also\, in some eyes\, especially those with corneal problems (such as diseases\, trauma\, haze\, corneal opacities\, leucomas\, etc.) and surgery\, taking measurements is not easy. \nThus the option of transpalpebral\, scleral tonometry with Diaton tonometer makes it a more versatile tonometry option for practices that already have GAT and are seeking for a handheld\, cornea independent readings. \nMajor Benefits of Diaton Tonometer:\n\n Easy to use. Can be used by any trained personnel\n No contact with the cornea (only upper eyelid and sclera)\n No need for anesthesia drops or removal of contact lenses\n Safe: No risk of infecting or scratching cornea (safer vs other methods)\n Cost efficient: No consumables (no need to purchase replacement tips\, probes or covers\, etc.)\n Latex-free\, handheld\, non-contact\, portable\, pen-like device\n No sterilization (just alcohol swab is used to wipe off the tip)\n Accurate: No pachymetry needed (independent of corneal biomechanics)\n Ready-to-use: Daily calibration not required (saves time)\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWho Uses the Diaton Tonometer?\nDiaton Tonometer (N477) is intended for use by Inpatient & Outpatient Clinics such as Hospitals\, Emergency Rooms\, Nursing & Elderly Homes\, General & Specialty Practitioners as well as Ophthalmologists and Optometrists. \nTo find more information about Diaton tonometer\, watch tonometry demo and training videos as well as clinical trials and testimonials from world renowned ophthalmologists visit: http://www.TonometerDiaton.com \nTo speak with Diaton Team or to place an order via phone dial: 1-877-342-8667 \n\nABOUT BICOM INC – Home of tonometer Diaton – You’ve seen us\, You know us! \n\n\nBiCOM Inc\, is committed to the global fight against blindness caused by glaucoma. SUMMARY:DIATON Tonometer at the American Academy of Ophthalmology AAO Meeting in New Orleans
DESCRIPTION:Team Diaton Tonometer presents its innovative\, “through the eyelid” and sclera glaucoma diagnostic tonometry technology at the American Academy of Ophthalmology AAO 2017 meeting in New Orleans\, LA.  Ophthalmologists find new ways to implement this non-invasive\, cornea independent tonometry technology in cases where no other corneal tonometry devices can get an accurate intraocular pressure (IOP) results. Diaton obtains the IOP measurement through the upper eyelid\, overlaying tarsus and sclera\, not via the cornea – making the technology unique and independent of corneal biomechanics. \nView Diaton tonometer exhibits and presentations at the 2017 American Academy of Ophthalmology AAO 2017 Annual Meeting. \n \nMore information on Diaton\, including videos\, clinical comparison trials and price can be found at : www.TonometerDiaton.com \nDiaton Tonometer to be presented at 3 exhibits: \n\nSonomedEscalon Exhibit #1001\nOptimetrics Inc Exhibit #317\nEnhanced Medical Services (EMS) Exhibit #2102\n\nNon-corneal Diaton tonometer is particularly useful in cases where standard direct applanation (corneal) tonometry is difficult or not viable\, such as with pediatric patients\, in presence of certain corneal pathology\, edema\, infection\, following corneal surgery\, KPro and in cases of eye trauma. \nEmil W. Chynn\, MD\, FASC from Park Avenue LASEK stated\, – “As a Cornea-Refractive trained specialist\, I encounter many situations where Goldmann readings are inherently inaccurate–like post-LASIK\, in cases of corneal edema\, scarring\, keratoconus\, post-keratoprosthesis or transplant. In such cases\, it’s both invaluable and reassuring to have the Diaton device available to measure IOP that’s independent of corneal pathology” \n“It works\,” said Dr. Mark Latina\, glaucoma specialist (Harvard / MEEI) and the inventor of Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT)\, after revealing results of the study titled: “Accuracy of Transpalpebral Tonometer Diaton Compared to Goldmann Applanation Tonometer in Normal and Glaucomatous Eyes”. \nRoman Iospa\, CEO of BiCOM Inc.\, added – “We’re at Diaton are humble to get such an overwhelming support from the ophthalmic community and are eager to learn from the community of the newly found applications of our transpalpebral and transscleral technology\, where cornea is not a factor”. \nHome of Diaton tonometer BiCOM Inc.\, handles sales\, distribution\, service\, support and training and can be reached via: 1-877-DIATONS (1-877-342-8667) or www.diaton.com \nAbout BiCOM Inc: \nBiCOM\, home of Diaton glaucoma diagnostic tonometer pen – committed to the global fight against blindness caused by glaucoma.
